What does it mean when a company Goes Green?
The company's main target is to eliminate pollutants entirely in manufacturing processes by using environmental practices in the processes.
Its mention is to establish a management designed to have little or no harmful effect on the environment.
Can sustainability, Go Green?
When a procedure goes green, all aspects of environmentally-friendly products, become green and with no harmful effect on the environment. Eco-friendly means that a product, practice, or activity won't harm the environment. Sustainability means that what we will do today doesn't deplete resources for future generations. Sustainability is a balance between the environment, society, and economy. These three parameters interact with each other and should work simultaneously.
How can companies Go Green?
Green policies that a company can implement, could be:
Recycle. Recycling is one of the most important steps to going green and reducing your carbon footprint.
- Prepare of a plan for long-term environmental actions.
- Set renewable technology in machines in production, services, maintenance.
Set lighting, equipment and technology policies like light and electrics sensors, lighting controls, daylight harvesting, occupancy sensors, room temperature sensors, climatic sensors, PC and other IT equipment, auto shutdown for PCs, installation of insulation, roof, wall and floor insulation, double or triple glazing, LED lighting
- Evaluate and choose a renewable energy supplier.
- Use reusable products.
- Avoid direct marketing and replace it with e-marketing.
- Use Renewable Energy Sources like Solar panels, Wind turbines etc.
- Use eco-friendly driving and car maintenance procedures.
- Use water saving management policies.
- Go paperless or invest in recycled paper.
- Plant outside a garden – use as shade.
- Install energy monitoring systems.
